Of course unique guns aren't even cool anymore in vanilla FO4 because they're all garbage legendaries that don't even look neat Imagine the place has been decommissioned after the east coast enclave got fucked and it's mostly in flames with malfunctioning robotic enemies serving as defenders, and at the end of the dungeon you find a full suit with a unique plasma gun. Is it so much to ask that loot locations make sense in the lore? It would've been cool as hell to have a hidden bunker underneath one of the Poseidon energy plants, or something like that. >Possibly one of the least secure places I can think of >Of all the fucking places it's at the top of a random skyscraper in downtown Boston >Keep looking, start to check places that just look like they could be video game locations to put your big suit of armor, shipping containers and bunkers and what not >okay that doesn't make any sense but it's US government, at least >Eventually find some parts in an underground bunker that probably hasn't been touched by anyone since its original inhabitants pre-war >Decide I'm going to find the X-01 without using any guides

The Nuka World suit seems like it very distinctly falls under "game" to me. Put simply, it goes like this: there's "game" and there is "lore".

When someone can point at a loading screen in the game itself (and please don't cite the T-51's loading screen as to how untrustworthy they are) since it very clearly says "post-war", then point at each little blurb in Fallout Shelter where it clearly says "post-war" and mentions the President's secret service on the same item - that really comes off like it has a little bit of fucking weight to it compared to the ramblings of some youtuber trying to piece together something that makes sense from the chaotic self-contradictory shitheap that is Fallout 4. "Give the kids something shiny and new, like those T-51's we had in Far Harbor only stronger". It VERY much seems like it exists purely to be some fancy schmancy quest reward and nothing more. Not one jot or tittle written on some monitor or note providing a reason for that Nuka World suit to exist as it does, where it does, so it may as well not even fucking be there considering no one talks about it. X-01 looks similar enough to Advanced Power Armor that people interchangeably refer to one as the other, up until someone like yourself gets their panties in a twist over the nomenclature and thusly begins the shitflinging argument.Īnd as to that smartassed "see above"? That AND the loading screen are more proof provided that X-01 is at least some iteration of the Enclave's post war advanced power armor than your near-consolidated-Easter-Egg-status-if-it-wasn't-in-plain-view-PA in Nuka World. FO3's Enclave Power Armor looks "significantly different". You got me there.Īnd no, it doesn't look significantly different at all. "Remnants" PA sure sounds official as fuck, Anon.
